Do You Know How To Care For Your Vehicle's Paint?
Caring For Fresh Paint After The Repair.
Now that you have your vehicle back and looking like new again, do you know how to care for that fresh paint? Here is some important information to consider.
First, you may wash your vehicle at any time. A designated car wash soap is better than dishwashing liquid. Household detergents and soaps can be harsh on the finish. Use a chamois or terry cloth towel to dry the surface and avoid direct sunlight. Remove bird droppings or tree sap immediately, as they can damage fresh paint. Also, avoid hard water, especially parking next to sprinklers on a hot day.
Finally, wait to wax your vehicle until after 60 days. The fresh paint is slowly letting small amounts of solvents out of the surface. If you wax it too soon, it can trap those solvents and damage the paint. After the 60 days when you wax your vehicle, we recommend using a carnauba wax.
